First to support the Medical Centre was Penrith Imaging who have committed to taking and area of over 500m2. The Ultrascan Radiology group has been providing high quality and professional Diagnostic Imaging services to the Penrith community and adjacent districts of Western Sydney for over 20 years. The partnership comprises seven Specialist radiologists: Dr Vincent Acton M.B.B.S, D.D.R, F.R.A.C.R. Dr Brendan Barry M.B.B.S, D.M.R.D. Dr Michael Carr M.B.B.S, F.R.A.C.R, F.A.N.Z.C.A. Dr Sylvia Johnson M.B.B.S, M.R.C.P, F.R.A.C.R, D.D.U. Dr Shane Connolly M.B.B.S, F.R.A.C.R. Dr Mark Waterland M.B.B.S, (HONS), F.R.A.C.R. and assistants. The group presently operates four large comprehensive, multi-modality x-ray and Ultrasound practices at Penrith, Mount Druitt, Auburn and Liverpool and the partners are closely associated with Nepean District Hospital as Visiting Medical Officers. In an innovative move, the partnership was also successful in tendering to operate the Radiology-Imaging Department at the new Hawkesbury District Hospital last year. Providing a widely respected and caring Imaging Service, the group has actively embraced diagnostic modalities as they became available including General Radiology, Inverventional Procedures, Mammography, Computerised tomography and Ultrasound examinations including Doppler studies and Musculo-skeletal ultrasound. The business name Penrith Imaging was adopted to incorporate the individual practices and staff as one group.
